It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for – the first batch of tickets for our summer season have now been released! Follow the link below to get yours now:
We’re yet to confirm the first day we’ll be open in June because we’re waiting to see when the lavender has started to flower in earnest. Tickets are currently available for the 22 June onwards, but it’s very possible we’ll be open a few days before this. We’ll post here, on our website, and our social media pages when we have an exact opening date!
More tickets will be released as the season progresses, so do keep your eyes peeled for a time that works best for you! This blog is a great resource to help you choose a good time to come; our returning ‘Weekly Pickings’ series will provide you with a weekly update on how the lavender, sunflowers, and wildflowers are looking throughout the summer.
Although all flowering times are highly weather-dependent, you can use the following as a rough guide:
Lavender
(June–August)
Wildflowers
(June–July)
Sunflowers
(August–September)
How is the lavender looking?

Main Field lavenders – 10/05/2024
As you can see from the photos above, we’re a little way off the purple carpet of mid-summer. The early-flowering lavenders are putting out the buds that will turn into flowers in the next month, but most of the lavender is currently occupied with putting out fresh green shoots.
Cultivating the sunflower field

Sunflower cultivation – 10/05/2024
We’re happy to confirm that our sunflower areas have now been cultivated and planted!
With a helping hand from the summer sunshine, the sunflower patches should form a magnificent display come August. We’ll keep you updated on their progress as the summer goes on.
Here’s a photo from a few years ago, just to wet the whistle! 😉

A Mini Ritz! Bug Hotel = Completed

Bug hotel, conservation area – 15/05/2024
As a last note for this week’s post, we’re delighted to report that the last trimmings have now been added to our bug hotel.
With its new mineral shed felt roof, this will soon become a cosy home for thousands of bugs and other critters.
That’s all for now. More soon, lavender fans!
