Visit this bank holiday weekend to see the last sunflowers of the summer!

We’re coming to the end of the flowering season here at Hitchin Lavender.

The second sunflower patch is still looking really good, and will be for around a week. After that, we’ll be into September – we’re keeping our tearoom, farm shop, and play area open for the early autumnal months, so no need to miss out on your fix of coffee and home-made cake!

In the short-term, now’s the time if you want to see flowers this year! Let’s check out how things are looking!

How are the sunflowers looking?

The second of our two sunflower patches is still in full bloom! This patch will remain in flower for around a week, so now is your last chance to catch the Hitchin Lavender flowering season!

As you can see in the second photo below, the bees are still enjoying these yellow beauties. They’re providing some of the last nectar of the summer season!

How is the lavender looking?

The lavender flowering season is now over. As you can see below, there isn’t much purple left on the farm and we have harvested around half of the lavender.

We are still allowing lavender picking for anyone who wishes to pick the lavender heads for use in home crafts. They’re still just as fragrant for these purposes – just not very purple anymore!
