Hello Hitchin Lavender fans!
This is another instalment of our Lavender Digest, where we update you on all things Hitchin Lavender. We have had a steady first week, meaning that we have had lots of time to weed and plant – which has been both satisfying and strenuous in equal measure.
Although we still don’t have much lavender to speak of yet, we still have an awful lot of new bits and bobs to spoil yourself with.
Here is a rundown of the lavender for this coming week!
Next week (8/6/18-14/6/18)
How will the lavender be looking?
We are getting ever closer to our first weekend for picking, but not quite yet. We do have purple patches in the field and we are getting close to our first lavenders being ready, but we do ask that no one picks the lavender just yet. We really want to give the lavender time to flower in full before the picking can begin.
Please check on our Hitchin Lavender Facebook page or on our Google profile to see whether we are allowing picking, before coming.

As with the last few weeks, we have delicious homemade cakes and an array of teas and coffees to try – not to mention our tasty comforting lunches.
And the sunflowers?
Similarly, the sunflowers are not yet in bloom. It is slightly too early to tell when they will be ready, but we are anticipating to have them in mid-July/August.
