Lavender Digest (6/7/18)

Hello Hitchin Lavender fans!

This is another instalment of our Lavender Digest, where we update you on all things Hitchin Lavender. Please make sure to share this with anyone thinking of coming – as we want to make sure that everyone knows what to expect when coming to us.

It has been an absolute scorcher this week, nothing but sunshine, which is fantastic news for the lavender – what with it being a Mediterranean plant.

Without further ado, here is the Hitchin Lavender Digest!

Next week (6/7/18-12/7/18)

How will the lavender be looking?

The lavender is very close to being in full bloom, but we are not quite at our full potential just yet. As mentioned in previous posts, our early lavender, which accounts for about a third of the field, has come into full bloom.

We would anticipate that the lavender will be coming into bloom in 1 weeks time.

And the sunflowers?

It is still very difficult to predict when the sunflowers will be in bloom. Currently they are about a foot tall and resemble potato plants! We are hoping that they will be coming in around late July, but it is a little like predicting the weather, I’m afraid.
