Even though the summer season is over, there’s plenty still to enjoy at Hitchin Lavender and we have some exciting events coming up! We’ve got a few old favourites returning to entertain us in the next few weeks as well as a range of autumnal activities to get you feeling warm inside (even if the weather’s getting colder)!
Take a look at the bottom of this post for an important update on the sunflowers!
Let’s take a look at our upcoming events in a bit more detail…
Final Sundown Cinema Screenings of 2019!
Three new screenings have just been announced for September in which Sundown Cinema will be using their biggest screen, brightest projector and best sound system to bring some cinematic magic to our lavender fields! There will also be a licensed bar on site.
Three New Dates in September!
Bohemian Rhapsody (12A) – 27th September
A Star is Born (15) – 28th September
Rocketman (15) – 29th September
Hog and Grog with the Brookfield Band – 5th October
Returning for the second time this year for another English barn dance and hog roast are the wonderful Brookfield Band! These talented musicians always bring rhythm and swing aplenty and fill the barn with a joyous atmosphere. Absolutely no experience is required; the band bring along a caller to tell you just what you need to do! Make sure you wear comfy clothes and some good, sturdy shoes!

We’ll also have a delicious, slow-cooked, spit-roasted pig for your consumption and vegetarian and vegan options too! The food is included in the price of the ticket!
The food’s going to be great, the music’s going to get your feet twitching and legs moving, what more can we say?
Location: Hitchin Lavender Barn | Time: 7:30pm
Here’s a little clip from our barn dance in June to show you just what you can enjoy:
The Definitive Rat Pack – 6th December
These fellas don’t need much of an introduction… They’re back from the West End and better than ever. They are The Definitive Rat Pack, three of the greatest interpreters of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. around.
On an evening fit for the festive season, we’ll be cosying up in our warm barn with a few drinks, laughs and company to savour. The Rat Pack will be bringing their live band with them, who’ll be taking us through all the old classics on an evening to remember!
Location: Hitchin Lavender Barn | Time: 7:30pm

Update from the Farm

The good news from the sunflower patch is that some are now out. We think the majority should be on show this weekend or the beginning of next week, so that will be the time to see them.
As we’ve predicted, it’s going to be a small display in the patch this year as we’ve had poor weather for the sunflowers. It’s not going to be the best array of sunflowers but if you’ve been desparate to see them then we can at least offer these!
