By It’s time for us to bid you a fond but hopefully fleeting farewell as we close the farm gates this weekend. We know that many of you have travelled from far and wide, some of you from just around the corner to see us this year and we’d like to thank all of our visitors, whether you’ve journeyed from Asia or Ickleford for coming to Hitchin Lavender.
It’s hard to believe that another year is very nearly behind us but there have been many highlights which will stand out as abiding memories for us from this season. To name just a few, 2019 was the first year that we brought you waffles in our new shepherd’s hut style wagon; it saw the planting and blossoming of beautiful flowers in our fresh cut flower garden; the inaugural launch of our pumpkin patch and the first time that we’ve been able to invite you drop in to visit us this late into the year.
Although we’re closing, we’ll not be retreating into full hibernation mode during the winter as they’ll still be plenty for us to do to maintain our plants and buildings to ensure that we’re ready to open the gates again next spring.
