By Well, here’s our first blog for 2020 and already we’re nudging towards the end of the year. Usually, we’d be lamenting the passing of another season but we’re sure like most of you, we’ll actually be happy to see the back of this year and are looking forward to a time which genuinely feels closer to normal rather than a recurring “new normal”.
It may not have been the year that we’d had in mind or hoped for but we’ve been counting our blessings that we were still able to open up the field thanks to a new booking system and a raft of sanitising measures. It was brilliant to see many of you again this summer but of course we were sad not to be able to welcome visitors from further afield or abroad. If you did miss out on a visit this year, we thought you might be interested in a reminder that our online shop is always open so you can order a flavour of the farm any time direct to your door.
You may already be familiar with our shop but we’ve recently added several more products to our website. In fact, we’ve had to temporarily commandeer the majority of the space in our barn to give us enough room to assemble many of our new lines. We’re fortunate that our space has allowed us to adapt once again to the current circumstances.
In the shop, you’ll find a selection of locally produced jams, pickles and chutneys, handmade artisan gifts, dried lavender and a range of toiletries. All of our toiletries are produced in the UK, using natural organic ingredients including lavender from our field and are 100% paraben free. You’ll find lavender filled eye pillows wrapped in gorgeous fabrics, healing wheat bags, candles and essential oils.
Brand new to the shop are our range of gift boxes containing a selection of indulgent treats and hand crafted details, such as a beautiful hand-tied bouquet. We also have Christmas wreaths, hanging decorations and other floral themed gifts. Another product we’re really excited about is our lavender gin. We’ve collaborated with a locally based, award winning distillery called Copper in the Clouds to create a unique batch of premium gin infused with lavender harvested from our fields. It has a delicate lilac colour and tastes delicious!
We can offer free delivery for any orders over £50 and for local orders placed from Hitchin, Letchworth and the surrounding villages, we can reimburse the delivery charge for you. If you’re local to us and would like to collect your order, please leave us a message at the checkout or via Facebook Messenger and we’d be happy to arrange a time for you to do this.
For any orders placed over £35, we’ll include a free bottle of soothing essential oil.*
If you’re purchasing a gift for someone, please let us know and we’ll include a gift postcard with a personalised message with your package. Please leave us your message in the comments section when ordering through the website.
