By We wrote our list, we checked it at least twice and were sure that we’d remembered to pack lots of lovely things to bring along to our stall at the Hitchin Christmas market. Last week some gorgeous German style wooden chalets were installed in the centre of our town and we’re happily ensconced in one of them. We’re really grateful to the town centre management team who have masterminded this initiative and invited us to participate, as we feel it’s a brilliant opportunity to support local businesses and create a festive experience for the surrounding community.
Back in the early days of Hitchin Lavender we often used to attend local markets but it’s been a while since we’ve been out on the road so we were really excited at the prospect of setting up shop remotely again. As we began to set up the stall, it quickly became apparent that we weren’t the only ones feeling just a little bit excited. There was a great sense of camaraderie between the traders and even a nip in the air failed to chill anyone’s enthusiasm for the project.
We’ve brought a wide range of our products out with us – we have our own brand toiletries, gift boxes, candles and essential oils. We also have locally crated artisan gifts, dried flowers and Christmas decorations. Recent additions to our portfolio are some Christmas wreath kits containing everything you’ll need to make your own delightful decoration and a gin gift set containing everything you’ll need to make your own delicious drink! Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, we’d love to see you at our stall so please come and say hello!
The market is open everyday from 10.00am – 5.00pm and until 7.00pm on a Thursday evening. The chalets will be in town until 22nd December.
